Plumbing Rough

Well the plumbing is definitely underway...based on what I saw today, some things are moving rather quickly. Since I work in the day, I was unable to capture some of the stuff that used to be here. Like all the other things in the house, plumbing was a mess and it was rather old...pipes were/are undersized and old material. We are moving to new standards - proper sizes, copper pipes, PVC pipes where needed, etc.

In some pics, you might see the old stuff they left in place. I guess it would show you the oldness of the house, but they will be removing it soon. PVC Piping and the Copper Pipes are the new stuff...anything galvanized steel is the older stuff...which you dont want anyways.

After the work started today, I briefly had a chat with the plumbers and my brother in-law and we might be doing a little extra - basically they recommended pulling new water service to the house with the proper sizing. Apparently the house is so old that it has some tiny pipes from the mainline in the street going into the house. This obviously is added cost, but makes sense to do now while we are replacing every single pipe in the house. Everything is being rerouted and installed new.

Here are some rough pics...sorry for the poor lighting, but it is the best I could do as some electrical throughout the house is already cut and we need to wait for the new stuff to get pulled in this weekend.

Rerouted Air Pipe for Kitchen area - new framing and new location for the air line

New Kitchen Water Lines and Drain Pipe (notice the old stuff next to it)
This is actually the closet we converted to a Laundry Room. This will be getting a Gas Dryer...but looks like the water lines and drain pipe have been brought up for the Washer already.

Heres another view - we will have a stackable Front Loading LG Washer/Dryer to the right - agains the wall where the pipes are.

Thats all for today folks...more to come tomorrow. We will see some electrical rough starting and I will need to go back to the garage work to remove ALL nails that are sticking out in the framing. I hate this part as there are always a million nails. Has to be done though :(

Not sure when plumbers come back, but its moving forward!
